Age requirement of races

Minimum 12-year-old for 10k and 5k races. Up to 12-year-old for Kids Race and Family Fun Run participants (no restriction for accompany adults).

What is the Green BIB program?

To help protect our environment, we are excited to offer Green BIB program to 10k/5k participants. There will be no T-shirt in the package. The registration fee is the same as regular 10k/5k race but we will donate an extra 10% of the registration fee to our charity partner, Burnaby Hospital Foundation.

Can I make changes after registration?

Yes you can. Please see the answer to the next question.

How can I switch between 10km / 5km race?

Yes. If a registered runner wants to switch from 10k to 5k or vice versa after registration, a request must be sent to, two weeks before the event day. Upon approval, the runner needs to sign-up and pay for the new race; the organizer will then cancel the original registration and do a full refund (less Eventbrite processing fees and $10 handling fee).

What if I am not able to participate?

Registrations are not refundable or transferable. If a registered runner is not able to present on the event day, a request must be sent to for a deferral, two weeks before the event day. Upon approval, the runner can sign up for the next year's race 50% off.

Can I make donations when I register?

Yes. Enter the amount you would like to donate at the bottom of the first registration page. The full amount will go to Burnaby Hospital Foundation. LaPower, in its role as the event organizer, will not retain any portion of the donation funds.

Price change dates

  • Early bird price: now till Mar 31.
  • Regular price: Apr 1 till Jun 30.
  • Final sprint price: Jul 1 till Aug 22 noon time (when registration ends).

Race-day sign-up

Race-day sign-up depends on availability after registration closed at 12PM Aug 22. Race-day sign-up takes cash, in full price only. Only BIB and timing chip (if applicable) will be provided. Race-day sign-up will close 30 minutes before race starts.

Event Day

Date and location of event

The 7th Burnaby Lake Run will be held on Sunday, Aug 25, 2024, at Burnaby Regional Park (3760 Sperling Avenue Burnaby, BC V5B 4X5).

Start time of each race

10km Race starts at 8:20AM; 5km Race starts at 8:50AM; Kids Race starts at 10:10AM; Family Fun Run starts at 11:00AM. Carnival will be on from 9AM to 3PM.

Course information? Door close time?

See diagrams. 10km starts by zones and door closes after 100 minutes (10AM). 5km door closes after 60 minutes (9:50AM). Kids Race door closes after 20 minutes (10:30AM). Family Fun Run door closes after 30 minutes (11:30AM).

Gear check

Gear check will be available on event day; and closes at 12PM.

Water stations? Medical support?

There will be 4 water stations along 10km course; at about 2.5km, 5km, 7.5km points, and one at the finish line on main site. Medical support is available on main site.

Strollers allowed?

Yes. Strollers are allowed for 5km Race and Family Fun Run. It's recommended the strollers start at the end of the crowd.


When and where will the results be available?

Results are available online at Startline Timing website minutes after runners pass the finish line. The URL will be published on the event day.

Prizes? Age Category Prize?

Prizes and trophies will be awarded to top 3 male and female winners of 10km, 5km, and kids Races. Separate medals will be awarded to top 3 finishers in each age category (under 20, 20-30, 30-40, 40-50, 50-60, above 60) of 10km and 5km races.

Package pick-up

What’s included in the package?

Packages for 10km and 5km runners include: BIB with timing chip, T-Shirt, Finish Medal (will be handed out at finish line), Concord drawstring bags, Forerunners coupon, and more. Packages of Green BIB program does not have T-shirt. An extra 10% of registration fee will be donated to Burnaby Hospital Foundation. Packages for Kids Race and Family Fun Run runners include: BIB, timing chip (for Kids Race only), Runner's T-Shirt for participanting kid, Finish Medal, LaMoose Mascot (medal and mascot will be handed out at finish line), extra T-shirt for accompanying adult (if ordered), Concord drawstring bags, Forerunners coupon, and more.

Package pick-up schedule?

10:00AM ~ 4:00PM on Friday and 10:00AM ~ 3:00PM on Saturday, August 23-24, 2024. At Concord Pacific Burnaby Presentation Center, 4750 Kingsway, Burnaby, BC V5H 2C2.

What do I need to bring to pick up the package?

Please bring a copy of your registration confirmation email (present the last 6 digits of the order confirmation number) or a piece of photo ID (if the runner does self-pick) to package pickup.

Can someone else pick up the package for me?

A friend or family member can pick up runner's package by presenting the registration confirmation email.

Can I change T-shirt size?

Sample T-shirts will be available at the package pick-up site for reference (please do not try them on). T-shirt size can be determined during package pick-up even it's different than what's on registration. Once package is picked up, no exchange is offered.

Race day pick-up?

Race-day pick-up will only get BIB and timing chip (if applicable).

Can package be shipped to me?

Sorry no shipping service is offered.

Any volunteer opportunities?

Volunteers are welcomed. Sign-up URL will be published at the website about two months prior to the event.

Charity Partner

Who is your charity partner?

Burnaby Hospital Foundation is our long-term charity partner. The Burnaby Lake Run and Carnival event will raise funds to support it; and raise awareness for it.

How do you support it?

All donations from registration, plus 10% of registration fee, plus all on-site charity sales will go to Burnaby Hospital Foundation. For Green BIB program, an extra 10% of registration fee will also be donated. Your support is greatly appreciated! Every dollar counts!
