Event Information and Arrival

  • Event Date: August 23, 2026 
  • Location: 3760 Sperling Avenue, Burnaby, BC (near Burnaby Lake Rugby Club) 
  • Volunteer Check-in: 6:20 AM at the Information Tent (pink label in below map)

Volunteer Check-in Process

6:20 AM – Check in at the Information Tent

  • Check in with the Volunteer Team. 
  • Confirm your T-shirt size and collect your volunteer T-shirt. 

After Check-in

  • Find your assigned Captain. 

6:50 AM – Volunteer Welcome & Briefing

  • Attend a short event briefing led by the Volunteer Coordinator.

7:00 AM

  • Walk to your assigned volunteer station with your Captain. 

At Your Volunteer Area

  • Your Captain will provide a role-specific briefing and training before participants arrive. 

By 8:00 AM

  • Be ready at your station to welcome participants.

FAQ

  1. What if I'm late on race day?
    Please contact your Captain directly as soon as possible. Your Captain's contact information is included in your pre-event email.
  2. What if I can no longer volunteer?
    If you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible by replying to our pre-event email or emailing burnabylakerun@gmail.com.
  3. What should I wear?
    Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes suitable for the weather. We also recommend bringing a reusable water bottle, sunscreen, and a hat if needed.
  4. Who do I contact if I need help on race day?
    Please contact your Captain first. Every volunteer area has a designated Captain who can assist you with any questions or issues during the event.
